Interested in learning how to play the guitar? I am available to teach lessons in the Los Angeles area (*and soon via Skype).
With over 10 years of teaching experience, I have taught beginners, advanced players, and everywhere in between. I can teach private lessons, group classes, ensembles and songwriting lessons. You can learn basic guitar and play all of your favorite songs, or dive in and learn all the complexities of the instrument. You can also learn basic to advanced music theory, notation and sight-reading. All styles; all levels.
Whether you are just beginning, or looking to get to the next level, I can help. My approach is to cater the lessons to your abilities and goals, maximizing both your potential and enjoyment!
In-person lessons start at $50 an hour when you come to me (in Santa Monica); $60 for me to come to you. (*lessons via Skype coming soon)
Lesson Policies:
Practicing: It is important to recognize that taking guitar lessons is accompanied by the requirement to practice on a consistent basis. There is simply no substitute for diligent practice when it comes to growth on the guitar, so be prepared to commit 20-30 minutes a day in order to achieve results.
Payment: For the first month, payment is due at the beginning of each lesson (one per week). If you wish to continue after that point, lessons are paid for in advance at the beginning of each month.
Cancellations/Make-up Lessons: A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Missed lessons without proper notification will not be refunded. These parameters also work in reverse: if I need to cancel or reschedule, I will notify you at least 24 hours in advance (usually more like several days in advance), and any lessons I cancel will be credited back to you. I can also arrange for a substitute as an alternative to cancellation.
I will do my utmost to respect your time and schedule, and I expect the respect to be returned in kind.
